The National Fire Protection Association's Active Shooter / Hostile Event Reponse Guidelines recommends a minimum Level IIIA NIJ-certified armor package for Active Shooter / Hostile Event Response. The Rescue Carrier is equipped with NIJ 0101.06 vertified Level IIIA soft armor packages with proper CPL certifications.

The term “bulletproof vest” is widely used, but it’s actually a bit misleading. No body armor on the market is truly bulletproof. Modern body armor is bullet-resistant — designed to stop or slow down specific types of bullets under certain conditions. Manufacturers test armor against known threats and follow strict performance standards (like those set by the NIJ), but there’s no vest that can guarantee protection from all types of weapons, bullets, or scenarios.
To get the most out of your vest, proper care and storage are critical.
Store your body armor flat, either on a shelf or other flat surface. When this is not practical, suspended on a clothes hanger is the next best method. Your body armor should never be folded, compressed or stood on its edge. This improper storage will create “excessive permanent creases” in your body armor and may cause curling at the edges. Storage at room temperatures in your locker or closet is recommended.
Your body armor should never be stored in the trunk of a vehicle where it may be exposed to temperatures in excess of 150 degrees F. High temperatures may affect the strength of some fibers which could diminish the performance of your body armor.Hand wash your carrier and Ballistic Panels with cold water and a mild detergent. Don’t ever fully submerge the Ballistic Panels in water. Always hang dry.

It provides NIJ Level IIIA certified ballistic protection, with the option to upgrade to NIJ Level III rifle protection via the Truth SNAP plates, while allowing unrestricted movement during patient care and rescue operations.
The carrier comes standard with Angel Armor’s RISE® NIJ-certified Level IIIA soft armor packages for handgun-rated protection and can be upgraded with Truth SNAP® rifle plates for higher level threats.
